When the University of Vermont’s largest entering class arrives next month, out-of-staters will outnumber Vermonters among first-year students by about 3-to-1. For the past few years, UVM’s in-state target for the entering class has been 25 percent. In the previous two years, according to Chris Lucier, vice president for enrollment management, the Vermont percentages of the entering class were 25.5 percent and 25.9 percent.
